The DLVE-SLP project is committed to increasing the supply of qualified speech language pathologists for employment in the public schools of Virginia. This can best be accomplished through a cooperative effort between the student, university and employers.

The student will be required to participate in online coursework, attend orientation and occasional face to face meetings. Success in any Masters degree program will require extensive time and financial commitments on the part of the student.

In addition to the academic requirements, students will be required to complete a minimum of 400 clinical practicum hours under the supervision of a qualified speech language pathologist. In some cases, this may involve the use of videoconferencing technologies placed within the work environment to allow for supervision.

We invite your support of the students within the DLVE SLP project with the expectation that your school program will gain a qualified speech language pathologist to serve the children of the school.

Prospective students may ask you to complete Letter of Affiliation and a Employer Support Form.
